The latest iteration of the iconic Batman, directed by Matt Reeves will feature a younger Bruce Wayne/Batman played by Robert Pattinson. The film features Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Ferrell as the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. The film is set to hit theaters on the 4th of March this Friday, and the early reviews are overwhelmingly positive. The Sandman – 2022 Neil Gaiman’s critically acclaimed bestselling graphic novel is finally getting its live-action adaptation after being stuck in production limbo for several years. The series will premiere on Netflix this year and the story revolves around the Dream, an anthropomorphic personification of a metaphysical being, who is known by several names including Morpheus. The fantasy series stars Tom Sturridge as Morpheus or Dream, Game of Thrones stars Charles Dance and Gwendoline Christie, along with Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, Sanjeev Bhaskar, and Asim Chaudhry in supporting roles. The much-anticipated film about Black Adam, an anti-hero and arch-nemesis to DC hero Shazam, is set to be released on July 29 this year. The film stars Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson as the titular character, and he will be joined by a star-studded ensemble which includes Person of Interest star Sarah Shahi, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Noah Centineo as the Atom Smasher, and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan the iconic Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate – members of the Justice Society of America from the Golden Age of comics. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Titans Season 4 – 2022 The fourth season of the live-action adaptation of Teen Titans titled Titans is set for a 2022 release. The fourth season will feature Dick Grayson aka Nightwing, Batman’s former protege and the first Robin played by Brenton Thwaites, leading the Titans against the forces of evil. The series stars Anna Diop Kory as Anders/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth/Raven, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Curran Walters as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Conor Leslie Donna Troy/Wondergirl, and Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent/Superboy. The Flash – November 4, 2022 Ezra Miller is set to reprise his role as Barry Allan aka the Flash. The standalone film is rumored to reset the DCEU timeline, erasing the events from Zack Snyder’s previous films. The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti and features Ben Affleck as Batman with Michale Keaton also playing an older Batman from an alternate timeline, reprising his role from Tim Burton’s Batman films from the late 80s and early 90s. The film will hit theaters on November 4, 2022, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom – December 16, 2022 Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the sequel to the hit 2018 film, Aquaman. Jason Momoa will reprise his role as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, King of the seven seas. Amber Heard will also reprise her role as Mera, with James Wan also returning as director. The fantasy drama series based on DC’s Vertigo imprint of comics showcases a post-apocalyptic world where some newborn babies are a hybrid of either plants or animals. One of Batman’s most popular sidekicks, Batgirl, will have her own standalone film this year. The film will feature Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl, daughter of Commissioner Gordon played by JK Simmons. The titular superhero will be played by Leslie Grace, while Michael Keaton returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Brendan Fraser will make his return to blockbuster films in Batgirl as the villainous Garfield Lynns aka Firefly.
