From Scam 1992 to Squid Game, from Christian Bale to Ricky Martin, and more stories   SonyLiv announces sequel to Scam 1992 SonyLiv has announced a sequel to its most popular show, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. The new series, titled Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, is based on the Stamp Paper Scam of 2003. Theatre actor Gagan Dev Riar will essay the lead role of Abdul Karim Telgi, a fruit seller who made money by printing counterfeit stamp papers. Hansal Mehta, who helmed Scam 1992, will serve as the showrunner. Tushar Hiranandani will direct the series.    Christian Bale’s look in Thor: Love and Thunder revealed Christian Bale is unrecognisable as Gorr the God Butcher in the official trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder. The film will see the reunion of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor with his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, played by  Natalie Portman. Foster also wields the power of Thor in her new identity as the Mighty Thor.  Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, and the cast of  Guardians of the Galaxy also feature in the movie. Waititi, who has directed Thor: Ragnarok, has helmed the project. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on July 8.   Cast of Prime Video’s The Hospital announced Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming adult animated comedy series, The Hospital, will feature the voice talents of Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne, Greta Lee, Kieran Culkin, Keke Palmer, and singer-songwriter Sam Smith. The series is centred on two alien surgeons, Sleech and Klak, who must tackle some of the most challenging medical cases in the galaxy. Cirocco Dunlap, who has previously worked on Russian Doll and Big Mouth, has created and written the series.   Ricky Martin joins Mrs American Pie Pop star Ricky Martin has been added to the cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming comedy series Mrs American Pie as the male lead. Based on Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie, the ten-episode series is set in the 70s and revolves around a woman who attempts to get into the high society of Palm Beach. The show stars Kristen Wiig, Alison Janney, Leslie Bibb, and Laura Dern in pivotal roles. The Help director Tate Taylor will helm the project.    Satirical show on the Squid Games is in the works Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of Netflix’s hit Korean series Squid Game, is developing a satirical show which revolves around the worldwide success and popularity of the series. The spin-off is tentatively titled The Best Show on the Planet. Meanwhile, the second season of Squid Game is under development.    Leslie Jones to headline Warner Bros’ animated series Leslie Jones, who shot to fame with her work as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, is set to headline Warner Bros’ upcoming comedy animated series. Jones will voice Plastic Woman, the female version of DC’s Plastic Man. Further details on the yet-to-be-titled series are kept under wraps.
