Jon Watts to direct Star Wars series for Disney+ Jon Watts, the director of the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland, is set to helm new Star Wars series for Disney+. Watts will also serve as the executive producer along with Spider-Man: Homecoming writer Chris Ford. Though plot details are under wraps, it is known that the new series is set after the events of the Return of the Jedi. Watts was initially attached to direct the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Production of the Star Wars trilogy delayed Lucasfilm has postponed the production of the Star Wars trilogy helmed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. The move is reportedly due to his other commitments, including The Knight Out movies. There is no update on the release date or the cast of the trilogy but they are expected to be director-driven movies. Season 3 of City on a Hill to premiere in July The third season of the highly popular crime drama City on a Hill will premiere on July 31. Production of Rabbit Hole begins The production of Paramount+’s upcoming series Rabbit Hole starring Kiefer Sutherland has commenced. The eight-episode series will premiere sometime this year. The series also features Game of Thrones alum Charles Dance, Empire actress Meta Golding, Mare of Easttown star Enid Graham, Ozark actor Jason Butler Harner, Arctic Circle star Walt Klink and Succession actor Rob Yang. Robert Downey Jr. teams up with discovery+ again Robert Downey Jr. is teaming up with discovery+ for a new series that will see the Iron Man restoring classic cars. Downey, along with a team of experts, will transform the cars in an attempt to develop eco-friendly automobiles suited for the 21st century. The series produced by Team Downey will premiere in late 2022. Downey had earlier collaborated with discovery+ on the four-part docuseries The Bond. Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford to star in Yellowstone prequel Renowned actors Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford are teaming up for 1932, the prequel to the hit series Yellowstone. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the series follows a new generation of the Dutton family during the early 20th century. Julian Dennison to star alongside Minnie Driver in One WinterDeadpool 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong alum Julian Dennison will star alongside Minnie Driver in the upcoming coming-of-age film One Winter. Directed by Paul Middleditch and Hamish Bennett, the movie is set in 1981 when the South African rugby tour set off widespread protests in New Zealand.
