From The Squid Game to Star Trek, from M. Night Shyamalan to Jayasurya, and more stories   Netflix greenlights season 2 of Squid Game It’s official! Netflix’s most-watched series Squid Game is set to return with a second season. The streaming giant announced the second season of the Korean thriller by sharing a note by the series’ creator, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk. In the note, Dong-hyuk thanked the fans for their support and confirmed the return of characters such as Gi-hun, The Front Man, and the stranger played by The Train To Busan actor Gong Yoo.     Spin-off of Castlevania in the works Netflix has announced a spin-off to one of its popular animated dark fantasy action series Castlevania. Titled Castlevania: Nocturne, the series will be set during the French Revolution and centred on Richter Belmont, the star of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night video games by Konami. The spin-off may also feature the popular character Maria Renard.    Lesley Manville Apple TV+’s Disclaimer Oscar-nominated actress Lesley Manville has been added to the cast of Apple TV+’s thriller series Disclaimer. Helmed by Roma director Alfonso Cuarón, the series is based on Renee Knight’s book of the same name. Manville will essay the role of a grieving mother named Nancy in the series, which also features a star-studded ensemble of Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Hoyeon, and Louis Partridge.

1. Night Shyamalan has wrapped up the filming for his upcoming film Knock at the Cabin. The film also marks his second collaboration with actor Rupert Grint after the Apple TV+ series Servant. Apart from Grint, the film features Mindhunter actor Jonathan Groff, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Dave Bautista. 

  Eesho to release on SonyLiv Jayasurya’s upcoming Malayalam film Eesho will have a direct-to-OTT release on SonyLiv. The film is directed by Nadirshah who has earlier collaborated with the actor in the hit comedy film Amar Akbar Anthony. Jaffer Idukki and Namitha Pramod play other important roles in the thriller.   Kate Mulgrew may return as Capt. Janeway in live-action form Kate Mulgrew, who essayed the role of Capt. Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, may return as Janeway in live-action form. When asked if she would make a special appearance in the final season of Picard, the actress said she wasn’t sure what would happen to the character in the future but she was looking at the possibility of a live-action with new eyes. Meanwhile, the actress will feature in the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy alongside Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Jason Mantzoukas, Angus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, Dee Bradley Baker, and Jimmi Simpson.
