Netflix has decided to pull the plug on The Brothers Sun after its first season, despite receiving critical acclaim and boasting star-studded performances. The Michelle Yeoh-led drama, which premiered in January 2024, had a solid eight-episode run but struggled to attract a substantial audience. The show, revolving around two brothers in a dangerous gangster family, featured impressive performances from breakout stars Justin Chien and Sam Song Li, alongside Yeoh. Despite positive reviews and spending weeks in Netflix's Top 10, the series failed to garner enough viewership, leading to its cancellation. The Oscar-winner Yeoh has other promising projects lined up, including a Star Trek spinoff and participation in James Cameron's upcoming Avatar instalment.
