Nancy Meyers, the popular filmmaker widely recognised for helming superhit rom-coms such as Father of the Bride, The Parent Trap, and The Holiday is set to direct a new film for Netflix. Big names such as Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Michael Fassbender, and Owen Wilson are reportedly in talks to join the project. The story will revolve around a novice writer-director who becomes involved in a personal and professional relationship with her producer. The plot has parallels to Meyers’ own life, considering she married her producer Charles Shyer in 1980 when she was a young filmmaker. We’re already digging into a bucket of popcorn in anticipation for this one to drop.
