As of January 21, the long-awaited sequel has earned $609.7 million at the worldwide box office, and it holds the record for the second-biggest Wednesday opening of the year with a total of $14.3 million just behind Top Gun: Maverick with $14.8 million. It is expected that there will be a staggering growth in box office numbers during the holiday season.
