Sian Heder won Best Adapted Screenplay for CODA, while Kenneth Branagh won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Belfast. Unsurprisingly, Encanto and Drive My Car won Best Animated Feature and Best International Film respectively, while Billie Eilish won Best Original Song for the latest James Bond entry No Time to Die. Despite 12 nominations The Power of the Dog took home just a single Oscar after Jane Campion won Best Director. The most coveted prize of Best Picture went to CODA, in a surprising turn of events, and the Apple TV+ original film became the first streaming exclusive film to win Best Picture at the Oscars. The film that bagged the most awards this year was Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, with six wins and 10 nominations. The sci-fi space odyssey film won Best Visual Effects, Best Original Score for Hans Zimmer, Best Cinematography for Greig Fraser, Best Film Editing for Joe Walker, as well Best Sound and Best Production Design.
