India will start vaccinating children in the 12-14 age group against Covid from Wednesday, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya has tweeted. “If children are safe, the country is safe. It makes me really happy to announce that from March 16, children in (the) 12-14 age group can get vaccinated against Covid,” the minister wrote. All adults above 60 years of age will also be able to get booster doses. So far, only those with illnesses above 60 could get the third dose of vaccine apart from frontline and health workers. Western media reports, quoting Biden administration officials, have stated that Russia has asked China for military equipment to push its invasion of Ukraine. The reports citing other US officials say that there were signs of Russian special military operations running out of non-specified weaponry after the war began nearly 20 days ago. Union minister Ajay Mishra Teni on Monday cited “good law and order situation” in Uttar Pradesh as one of the reasons behind the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) massive win in the recently-concluded assembly elections. Speaking to news agency ANI, Mishra, whose son is out on bail in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, said that the BJP would not have received the majority in assembly if the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh was not good. After Congress’ Assembly rout in five states, top Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has defended Sonia Gandhi, stating that she alone is not responsible for it. “Every state leader and MP is responsible, not the Gandhi family,” he told ANI. Reimposing his faith in Sonia Gandhi, he said that “there is no question of offering resignation.” Young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Sunday added yet another feather to his cap as he scripted a huge Indian record and broke a world record simultaneously with his fiery 28-ball half-century in the second innings of the Bengaluru pink-ball Test against Sri Lanka. And following the mighty feat, legendary Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan feels made a massive predicted for young Pant. Prabhas’ period romantic drama, which opened to mixed reviews from all quarters, has collected ₹151 crore in its opening weekend, claims the team behind the film. However, the Hindi version of the film, which was also dubbed and released in Tamil, has collected a meagre sum.
