While Biological E’s Corbevax has been approved for administration in children aged 5-12 years, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has been approved for restricted use in emergency situation in children aged 6-12 years by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI). Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and poet Kumar Vishwas has approached the Punjab and Haryana high court, seeking the quashing of a first information report (FIR) registered by Punjab Police in Rupnagar on April 12. The case against him was registered under sections of promoting enmity between groups, criminal conspiracy, publishing or circulating a news with intent to create enmity on the grounds of religion and race besides the Representation of People Act on the complaint of Narinder Singh. External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday pushed back against European pressure for India to oppose Russia’s actions in Ukraine by highlighting the fallout of the chaotic withdrawal of Western powers from Afghanistan and their silence on challenges to the rules-based order in Asia.
