Preparing the ground for the party’s chintan shivir (brainstorming session) in Udaipur later this week, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet on Monday evening to finalise the proposals of the six panels which were formed last month to deliberate upon the political and economical situation in the country. Late in the evening, DGP Sanjay Kundu issued an order to seal interstate borders as a preventive measure. He directed all the police stations to keep a vigil at probable hideouts of “anti-social elements”. The flags, which were tied to the main entrance, were spotted by local residents who informed police. A police team subsequently rushed to the spot and removed the flags and erased the slogans. The Maharashtra government will ask a sessions court on Monday to cancel bail of Lok Sabha member Navneet Rana and her husband and independent MLA Ravi Rana, as the duo violated a bail condition of not speaking to the media on the reciting of the Hanuman Chalisa case, special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said on Sunday.
