Preparing the ground for the party’s chintan shivir (brainstorming session) in Udaipur later this week, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will meet on Monday evening to finalise the proposals of the six panels which were formed last month to deliberate upon the political and economical situation in the country. The proposals of these six panels will be part of a resolution that will be adopted during the three-day chintan shivir which is slated to begin from May 13, a party leader familiar with the developments said. Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday ordered a probe into an incident in which Khalistan flags were found put up and slogans scrawled on the walls of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly entrance. Late in the evening, DGP Sanjay Kundu issued an order to seal interstate borders as a preventive measure. He directed all the police stations to keep a vigil at probable hideouts of “anti-social elements”. The flags, which were tied to the main entrance, were spotted by local residents who informed police. A police team subsequently rushed to the spot and removed the flags and erased the slogans. The couple spoke to the media outside a hospital on Sunday morning after Navneet Rana’s discharge. Both were released on Thursday after 12 days in custody by the sessions court. Priyanka posted a long message and said that her daughter was born premature and had been in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) for 100 days. The couple welcomed their daughter in January via a surrogate. They did not reveal her name but it was discovered by the media that her birth certificate mentions her name as Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The names are tributes to Priyanka and Nick’s mothers. “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced. After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home,” Priyanka wrote. The Haryana Cricket Association has also been helping the former player out and some journalists have suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may also step in.
