A total of 25 entry and exit bullet wounds were found in the body of popular singer Sidhu Moosewala, a panel of five doctors have concluded in the post-mortem report, officials familiar with the matter said on Monday. Excessive bleeding could have resulted in death, an official added. The 28-year-old singer, who contested the 2022 Punjab assembly elections on a Congress ticket, was shot dead on Sunday while he was driving his SUV in Punjab’s Mansa. He was declared dead at the hospital. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Monday transferred Sameer Wankhede, the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer who wrongly arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case last year, to Chennai. On the morning of May 30 Wankhede had tweeted: I don’t harp on the negative because if you do, then there’s no progression. There’s no forward movement. You got to always look on the bright side of things, and we are in control. Like, you have control over the choices you make.” The development comes just days after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) gave a clean chit to Aryan, following which the ministry of home affairs (MHA) recommended action against Wankhede for a “shoddy probe” in a drug bust on Cordelia, a cruise ship, on October 2, 2021. The absence of Union minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi from the list of nominees for the Rajya Sabha biennial election scheduled for June 10 has set off speculation that the party may not be considering him for a re-nomination to the Upper House. Party leaders however refused to comment on the issue. The suspense has also cast a shadow on his continuation in the Union council of ministers as the rules mandate that a minister has to be a member of either House of Parliament. A plea by five Hindu women seeking unhindered rights to worship idols in the Gyanvapi Masjid complex is not maintainable because it violates Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, lawyers for the mosque committee argued before a district judge on Monday. Judge AK Vishvesha posted the matter for further hearing on July 4. Since the women filed the case in their individual capacity, their view did not represent that of the entire Hindu community, Akhlaque Ahmad, a lawyer representing the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, which manages the Gyanvapi Masjid, said in court. As Rajasthan Royals missed out on second Indian Premier League (IPL) in the final hurdle against Gujarat Titans, Riyan Parag came under the radar of netizens on Sunday. The Rajasthan youngster, who was previously criticised for controversial catch celebration, was slammed for not scoring runs in the title showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Parag perished for just 15 and failed to provide a late flourish as Rajasthan ended up scoring 130 for nine in 20 overs. Gujarat, in response, chased down the total in the penultimate over to lift the IPL crown in front of home fans.  Rajasthan Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara spoke about their season and said the side needs to improve in a lot of areas despite achieving a runners-up finish. “Well, we have got a lot of improving to do in all areas. If you take our batting, we had huge contributions from Jos (Buttler), Sanju, and Shimron Hetymer at the early stages,” said the Sri Lanka great in the post-match presser.
