Speaking on Day 2 of the 18th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, announced a plan to link all of the capital's government health infrastructure virtually. He said that the health data of all of Delhi's residents would be uploaded on the cloud so that it is instantly available in the future to healthcare providers. The facility is likely to be ready within a year, said the CM. The expansion plan includes linking Central government and private hospitals to the system too. Dr. Jha said that he is hopeful that no major outbreak will occur but warned that there will be several cases of minor outbreaks may be all through 2021. As the world eagerly waits for a Covid-19 vaccine, Serum Institute of India’s Adar Poonawalla spoke on the issue at the 18th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. ‘The vaccine so far is proving to work really well even in the elderly which was a concern we all had early on, Poonawala said. He further added that they have been making and stockpiling millions of doses ahead of time to get a headstart on the supply. Poonawalla also said that there have been no safety concerns in Indian studies so far. He also said that it could take about 3 to 4 months for the vaccine to be rolled out and added that initial doses would be allocated for all frontline workers, health officials and the elderly.
